If you are hyperglycemic what foods should you eat when your blood sugar is high?

My aunt is hyperglycemic which means her blood gets high so please help me help her find what foods she can eat. I had asked this question before and I got no good answers, now to be more specific I wasn’t asking what foods LOWER the blood sugar I was asking what foods she could eat that wouldnlt make her blood sugar HIGHER.

Protein foods do not lower blood sugar, that’s utterly ridiculous. When consumed with carbs, they merely slow the absorption of foods that normally produce blood sugar (carbohydrates).

That being said, there are a couple of foods that might aid the body in dealing with blood sugar. Those are cinnamon and ampalaya (bitter melon). But rest assured, consuming more food, of any type, is far less effective (often worsening the situation) than a little exercise and simply eating the right foods.

Now then, since you’re asking what foods help keep blood sugar from going higher, that is going to be the ones Mother Nature provides…. Natural foods. They are full of essential nutrients, and naturally low in calories. The nutrients help your body deal with the calories more effectively than man made/processed foods. You still can’t beat good old fashioned exercise for keeping blood sugar low, however.

When ever someones blood sugar is high it is best for them to stay away from carbs, processed foods and fruits ( they have their own sugar)
Protein such as Turkey or Roast Beef will lower blood sugar

stay away from sugary starchy and carb filled foods! cinnamon helps in the long run with hyperglycemia but if your blood sugar is high at the moment drink lots of water!

When my blood sugar is high I eat things with little to no carbs such as carrots, salad, some sugar-free stuff like jello (be careful though, some sugar-free things still have carbs), nuts, or slaw.
