anxiety attack??????????????????????????????

January 18th, 2010 -- Posted in Diabetes natural remedies | 3 Comments »

I am 12, and 3 weeks ago I had what you call a "panic attack"
I started having shortness of breath, chest pain on/off, abit of numbness in toes/fingers, worrying over nothing like traeling on a plane, spending a long time out of the house.
Is this for sure anxiety ?
I weighed 69 kilos, 5 feet tall, when have the anxiety attack, now I weigh 65.
I feel abit healed since the shortness of breath isn’t so hard to cope with, like I take a deep breath, then I breathe normally, not much chest pain, and I haven’t had a panic attack in a while.
I have only had 3 panic attacks since those 3 weeks, I started eating healthy, and losing weight already.
what are other natural remedies ?
also, is there any chance I have heart disease ?
if you have anxiety, and your overweight is there a chance of heart disease, and diabetes ?
or am I fine, is it JUST anxiety ?
help !

I would say continue your weight loss plan, and before you go on any medication regimen see if you can be referred to a therapist who can work with you on "cognitive behavioral therapy."

If you were to start a medicaiton, they can cause side affects that would make it confusing if your symptoms are coming from anxiety or the medication. Cognitive behavioral therapy is really effective for me, medicine did nothing.

However, sometimes it’s not clear if it is just anxiety. I say if you’re only experiencing the episodes as clear defined "panic" episodes, then it’s pretty sure panic and anxiety. If you have or develop other symptoms, go back to your doctor–and if your doctor does not answer your questions then find another one. Doctors are hired by the patients… you’re the client, their job is to serve you to your satisfaction.

You’re very young to have heart disease, but I don’t know your diet or health history. This is something to continue following up on with your doctor.

omg..grandmother..terrible condition..could garlic help? how much? HELP?

January 16th, 2010 -- Posted in Diabetes natural remedies | 1 Comment »

my grandmother is totally sick right now and we have almost no money right now at all, and before you read further and say anything SHE DID WENT TO A DOCTOR, but as it allways is and was here, they never are any of help at all, instead they allways prescribe unbelievably expensive meds, which are unknown of what have been made and what they actually do inside the body, they know that my grandmother is very poor yet all they do is allways prescribing those impossible meds when i know there must be a remedy within natural and more accessible sources too, at least as temporary solutions..

HER CONDITION:
terrible, almost unbearable pain and kind of like beats inside left side of head (she have complained about that before too but it seems like it has gotten even worse) and whats the weirdest and also never before experienced is that all her left side of forehead is covered with terrible pimples or acne you could say, she says it itches or hurts too, she cant open her left eye at all too, and feels terrible and weak all over body as well, im afraid she might be having some growth in her head or something, btw she also has diabetes

DONT GET ME WRONG
we will try to get those prescribed meds anyway and if she feels well she will go to a blood test tomorrow BUT meanwhile i want you to please tell
some natural remedies that could ease her situation,
what to eat, what not,
can she drink lots of green tea and eat garlic?
is it safe to eat or apply externally aloe vera?
how and from what would it be the best to make compress?
and isnt garlic too strong? and how much of it is too much if eat raw?
ANSWER AT LEAST AS MUCH AS YOU KNOW, not neccessary everything..

THANKYOU
wtf? my grammar may be fail but im not a troll, if you have nothing usefull then please stfu

I answered the same answer before at your other question on YA! looking at your grandma’s symptoms. Sounds like a bad virus. Consider acupuncture. It helps… maybe every day for awhile, but that’s very expensive.
I honestly think the garlic is a wonderful place to start. It might be the best thing. You can apply raw garlic right on pimples and help them disappear overnight. You have to remove the membrane, or just cut a sliver of garlic and apply the moist side on the pimple with some tape. Good for you for thinking of a compress. Consult a book like Back to Eden or Prescriptions for Nutritional Healing by Dr. Balch, ND. It’s very good… excellent book. You can just look at it at the health food store where there usually is one in every health food store. Then do as I mentioned before:
I use garlic since I’ve tend to get tumors, and it inhibits them and makes me feel much better. I eat the garlic raw — that is essential & I think the raw is better than capsules, altho I might be wrong. It’s not bad eating garlic raw if you mix it in scrambled eggs, or even on a piece of toast or mixed in humus – that can actually be delicious. But you must eat at least 2 -3 cloves and more than once a day if your grandma’s condition is as you say terrible. I don’t know where it is, but if it’s internal garlic and colon cleanse with something like Perfect 7 will help. Also, I have even used garlic cloves cut so all the membrane is removed and is able to release garlic to cure vaginal yeast infections. Keep praying. You are being an encouragement to her. God does care. Read John 14… "Let not your heart be troubled. Neither let it be afraid. You believe in God. Believe also in Me. I go to prepare a place for you that where I am you may be also. /// Where are you going? How shall we get there ? //// I AM the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except by Me." Jesus

Here’s some info regarding:- Using Robitussin/Guaifenesin to Improve Cervical Mucus?

January 15th, 2010 -- Posted in Diabetes natural remedies | 5 Comments »

At first most people wonder what on earth a cough syrup has to do with fertility, but the logic is easily found in the fact that it is an expectorant and is being used to loosen and thin mucus – just in a different place than the lungs!

What kind of Robitussin is used to improve cervical mucus?

One should buy the plain kind with no letters after it. The only active ingredient is guaifenesin, and it contains 100 mg per teaspoon. It is very important to avoid the versions that contain decongestants as those may dry up cervical mucus. Also, there is some conflicting information about whether dextromethorphan, the DM in some cough medicine names, may be linked to birth defects such as neural tube defects and cleft palate.

Do I need to use the brand Robitussin?

No. Robitussin is the most common brand name, at least in the U.S., that carries a guaifenesin-only expectorant, but there are other brands and generics available. As long as the only active ingredient is guaifenesin, you can use any variety you find. For those with diabetes or otherwise concerned about sugar intake, there is the brand Diabetic Tussin available.

What is the recommended dose of guaifenesin?

The recommended dose for improving cervical mucus, based on a 1982 article in Fertility and Sterility, is two teaspoons (200 mg) taken orally three times per day. If mucus still appears thick and doesn’t have good spinnbarkeit (ability to stretch), one can take as much as four teaspoons (400 mg) four times per day (the maximum dose on this over the counter medication). Each dose should be taken with a full glass of water, and attention should be given to drinking plenty of fluids throughout the day — one needs water to produce mucus.

What cycle days should one take guaifenesin?

Just as the dose can vary a bit, so can the days. The article linked above had patients starting the guaifenesin on cycle day 5 – five days after the start of menses. This seems rather early as mucus is not an issue until about five days before ovulation – based on the fact that sperm can only live five days at best, and most pregnancies are the result of intercourse in the five days leading up to ovulation. Because of this information, it is now more common for doctors to suggest starting guaifenesin about five days before expected ovulation and continuing through ovulation day (six days total, for those with regular cycles). For those with irregular cycles, one should start taking guaifenesin about five days before the earliest day ovulation might be expected. For those taking Clomid (clomiphene citrate, Serophene) in a 5-day protocol, one can probably wait until the day after the last Clomid pill before starting the expectorant.

Is guaifenesin available in pill form?

Yes, but in most cases a prescription is needed. In the U.S., one can get a 600 mg time released caplet as the generic Guaifenesin CR, or brands Humibid LA, and Fenesin. This is often less expensive than the liquid. Another brand that is available OTC is Mucinex, though it probably is not a cost savings.

How does one diagnose cervical factor/hostile mucus?

Many women try taking guaifenesin after noting little or no egg white (stretchy) cervical mucus while charting their fertility signals, but clinically it is diagnosed when a doctor checks mucus one or two days before ovulation in what is usually referred to as a post-coital test. The doctor does a vaginal exam and takes a sample of mucus to immediately analyze under a microscope to check for live sperm and for a ferning pattern. It is also checked for signs of infection. Quality mucus will be stretchy, fern, lack cellularity, and have live sperm swimming in it.

Why do so many women take guaifenesin while on Clomid?

Clomid (clomiphene citrate, Serophene) can cause hostile mucus in 30 percent or more of women using it. Higher doses tend to be more associated with less cervical fluid and a thinner uterine lining, than the 50 mg dose.

Will guaifenesin help if there is little or no mucus present?

Guaifenesin doesn’t actually create mucus, it only thins what is already there. One would need to look into why there is no mucus (infection, not really ovulating), or bypass the mucus issue by doing intrauterine insemination.

Does one need to take guaifenesin when doing intrauterine insemination (IUI)?

It would only make sense to take guaifenesin if one is planning to have intercourse in addition to doing IUI. Those doing donor insemination, for example, wouldn’t benefit.

Will taking guaifenesin cause any problems if it isn’t needed?

Probably not. Since fertile mucus can be watery, there is probably no harm in taking guaifenesin and thinning it out.

What are some other possible ways to improve cervical mucus?

Drinking plenty of water should always be considered in addition to any other therapies one might try. Estrogen is sometimes given to help mucus production, though doctors have mixed opinions of its benefit, especially when used with Clomid (and some suggest using Tamoxifen instead of Clomid). Injectable gonadotropins used for controlled ovarian hyperstimulation often have a positive effect on cervical mucus as well. Some home/natural remedies include eating salty foods such as popcorn (mucus is very salty), taking evening primrose oil, avoiding dairy products (they can thicken mucus), eating lots of baby carrots, and also avoiding antihistamines, including high doses of vitamin C. Another suggestion that is increasing in popularity is to drink grapefruit juice in order to improve or increase the amount of cervical mucus. If one is on prescription medications, it is a good idea to look for warning about grapefruit juice consumption (it isn’t recommended with several medications for hypertension, for example).

Can lubricants be used in place of CM?

Lubricants aid in intercourse, but not in sperm travel through the cervix. Most over the counter lubricants are not "sperm friendly" — meaning that using them is likely to kill off some sperm. In most cases, one needs to weigh the benefits against the risks . . . it may well be worth losing a few sperm to make it possible to complete intercourse. That said, there are some friendlier options out there. One is FemGlide, a lubricant you can get from your doctor. You can buy the same product marketed as Slippery Stuff (apparently more available at stores that sell sexual aids than at pharmacies and such). There is also a more recently introduced product called Pre-Seed from Bio-Origyn. Another option discussed on many fertility boards is using raw egg whites at room temperature. There may be some risk of salmonella exposure with egg whites, so some suggest using pasteurized egg whites available in the grocery store. With any lubricant, it is generally best to use as little as possible.

Does guaifenesin do anything for male factor infertility?

It is possible that men with thick semen may benefit from guaifenesin in the same manner it helps with cervical mucus in women. The suggested doses on the newsgroups and fertility boards range from two teaspoons twice per day to four teaspoons four times per day.

That is wonderful that you can copy and paste. Now, what exactly is your question?

how do i get my doctor to see beyond blood tests?

January 13th, 2010 -- Posted in Diabetes natural remedies | 4 Comments »

as i said on another question i suspect i have pcos,my doctor has run blood tests for these, and blood sugar-diabetes,thyroid etc.
as far as my doctor is concerned because blood tests dont show anythinng up i am fine.
basiclly my syptoms dont exist as far as she is concerned !my syptoms are menstual differculties, very light, with pms, weightgain, skin rashes ,yeast infections, tiredness, sugar cravings, spots.
have treated myself with herbal remedies, but my weightgain ,worrys me and i feel if she gave me a diagnosis she would be able to prescribe metformin to bring my insulin levels down so i can lose weight easier.have a family history with diabetes, aunt with type 1 and father with type 2 although he wasnt overweight until they started him on insulin,so i am worried i may be headed the same way.should i turn to natural practioners instead ?
thanks for any advice :)
also just to say it very differcult to change gp in my area ,all the surgerys are oversubscribed.a friend of mine had terrible trouble changing, and her new isnt much better.i like the surgery im with not the doctor .also no i havent had a three day test what is that ?had an overnight fasting one around 10yrs ago? :)
i dont eat a lot of sugar, altough i get sugar and carb craving s.i eat a relativaly healthy diet! :)

If you feel that your doctor is not giving you the proper attention you feel you need, I suggest getting a second opinion. If you like your current doctor and don’t want a new one, atleast see a different doctor regarding this issue and then continue to see your regular Dr. when needed.

My mom was having her own set of issues a couple of years ago. It took her three doctors until she found the one that actually listened to her and didn’t think she was making up her symptoms. Turns out she needed surgey.

Always trust your gut instinct!

Any one know the cause of swollen ankles?

January 11th, 2010 -- Posted in Diabetes natural remedies | 2 Comments »

Have just come back off holiday to Greece and while I was there I noticed that my ankles kept swelling up in the heat, have just been checked out by doctor so I know it is not caused by diabetes or any heart problems.Would like a natural remedy if possible

Maybe you’re just eating too much salt. I know when I was pregnant I had a horrible problem with water retention when I ate too much salt. Try limiting your sodium intake and see if that helps.

I have diabetes and my sugars are not…?

January 9th, 2010 -- Posted in Diabetes natural remedies | 7 Comments »

my sugars are not always under control…even tho i try.. but what can i take or do even if its a natural remedy to bring it down when its a little high…something that wont take many hrs to feel the effect…

I recommend my diabetic patients go on a low-glycemic index diet to help stabilize blood sugars. It teaches you how to eat for life and it doesn’t count calories or get boring. The website is www.transitionslifestyle.com. See what you think. Email me if you want me to find you someone that is trained in this diet method that can help you learn it.

If you are looking for a natural pill I would recommend Diamaxol. Here’s the link so you can read more about it.

Also, exercising or physical activity helps to lower blood sugar. Make sure you are keeping track of your sugars on a consistent basis and keep going in for check-ups with your medical doctor. Feel free to email me with any questions!

Who do i see for diabetes insipidus? and what kind of tests are done?

January 8th, 2010 -- Posted in Diabetes natural remedies | 3 Comments »

please help! I believe I have diabetes insipidus because for the last 1.5 or 2 years I have been drinking an excessive amount of water, at least 3 gallons a day and can’t stop. I urinate so much that now i have incontinence, sleeping difficulties, and even constipation. I need help bad but being jobless, can’t afford much. though i have emergency health insurance, the initial out of pocket deductible is so high that I am required to pay for pretty much everything including all tests. i am soo afraid and i fear both- financial hardship & failing health. i want my normal life back but instead i have to hide with my gallons of water & near a bathroom all the time.
so i know beforehand, what kind of doctor should i see? and what kind of tests do they do and what do these tests involve? about how much do they costs usually and are there any natural remedies? what else should i know to help myself and watch out for? any info will be helpul
thanks everyone, but any more info u know would still help me. about how much do endocronologist costs and about how much do the blood and urine lab work cost? &can anyone tell me about there experience w/ an endo? is there any other further work that might need to be done? can a regular doc who sends the lab work be enough and if not, why would he refer me to an endo? do i have to follow up w/ the endo continuously? what are the cheapest tests he can do for me and what are some other options for everything… doctors, tests, treatments, etc. please provide any info u can… i hate this cus i don’t lack any symptom and i don’t know what i did to get this illness:(

I have DI (aka. water diabetes). I was diagnosed with it in 2008 because my pituitary gland was messed up because of a brain tumor. I have to see an endocrinologist now. You definitely have the symptoms. You will have to give a urine specimen (pee in a cup). If your urine is very diluted, you probably have DI. The medicine I have to take for this is desmopressin. I am not going to lie to you…It is expensive. It costs me $130 for 45 pills (which covers me for 1 month). You might not have to take that much, your endocrine doctor will find the proper doses you have to take. Since you are going to an endocrinologist, he is a specialist, this will cost more then your regular Dr. I would suggest going to your regular Dr. and get your lab work done, and if you have DI, he can refer you to the endocrinologist. When I first got it, I was drinking so much, I was throwing up…and all I was throwing up was water. Be careful…you can get sick from drinking to much. You have to also be careful because if you don’t get your water, you can get dehydrated. This is because the water your drinking just goes right through you and your body doesn’t absorb much of it. I am jumping too far ahead…you might not have it. Go to your doc and get your lab work done. GOOD-LUCK

I need hep c natural remedy. contracted b in 63 in Turkey.?

January 5th, 2010 -- Posted in Diabetes natural remedies | 2 Comments »

I don’t have any obvious symptoms. I am 70 years old. Once in awhile I feel tired (maybe 2-3 times a month). My urine has become a little darker (when I don’t drink enough water). I do not take any regular prescriptions drugs and have no ailments (i.e. diabetes, high blood, etc.). Dr. prescribed Medrol for hip pain. I am afraid to take it because somewhere in the literature it said tell you dr. if you have liver disease. Liver disease has not developed. I follow very healthy diet and exercise, and take supplements. Has anyone had success with natural remedy such as hepatan or colloidial silver? Can it go away if you’ve been taking natural healing herbs and supplements?

There are no natural remedies for Hep C. Been there done that with my husband. He has had it for 40 years, and we have tried all sorts of things, most are just hard on the liver and can cause further damage. I don’t suggest that you try them. My husband does not have any liver disease from his hep C either. In fact the doctors told him he had the liver of a healthy 20 year old. He has tried the interferon/ribavirin treatment, but had severe side effects and develope extremely high iron levels and they took him off the treatment. Now he is getting back to normal and does not plan on starting the treatment again when his iron levels are brought down. Many supplements and herbs are very hard on the liver, and his doctor suggested he not use them. (even though this doctor does believe in some herbal treatment for certain things)…….

Any natural/alternative remedy for long-term cough?

January 4th, 2010 -- Posted in Diabetes natural remedies | 5 Comments »

This cough has been around since 15 yrs ago. Feels like there’s phglem tickling the throat, but nothing I do can dispel it out. Tried many types of medication and seen countless doctors but to no avail. Recently diagnosed diabetes on borderline and a bit of high cholesterol. So, any suggestions?

Temporary help: suck on horehound candy / lozenges. My first suggestion is a food diary with notes of your symptoms and how good or bad the symptoms are relatively…the next doctor you see, especially if a Naturopath or Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner, will greatly appreciate your efforts.

You may want to look more deeply into diabetes — half of all diabetics have or develop celiac disease [unable to tolerate wheat, oats, barley and rye -- some can tolerate oats, but not all of us].

Do you eat lettuce regularly? One of my friends had a child for years of coughing and daily medicine for cough and allergy… when she took the child off of lettuce and substituted bean sprouts in her food to get the "crunch" factor, suddenly the coughing went away…seems lettuce is close relative of ragweed!

what is the best remedy for diabetes?

January 2nd, 2010 -- Posted in Diabetes natural remedies | 11 Comments »

what one can do to keep himself fit when he is a diabetic patient and what to do to control nerves problem as they get affected when u r a diabetic patient,?is there any natural remedy for that?

There is no "remedy" as you call it, which implies a cure, only treatment. Juvenile onset or type 1 "brittle" diabetes, which is generally diagnosed earlier in life and is caused by a failure of the pancreas to produce the needed insulin, is usually treated with insulin injections to keep blood sugars from going too high. Adult onset, or "type 2" diabetes is similar but the pancreas is still functioning, just not well enough to keep up with the body’s demand for insulin. The goal of any treatment plan is to keep blood sugars in the normal range, through strict control of calorie intake if possible, medication (insulin or pills) to help the sugars get transmitted from the blood to the cells where they’re needed, and excercise to help burn off the sugars and maintain your healthy metabolism. Any consistent physical activity, be it work or play, can be an important element of an effective treatment plan. Good control of blood sugars means a longer, healthier life. Poor control will have seriously negative effects on your longevity as well as your quality of life. Just get or stay active; it doesn’t much matter how, and check your blood sugars frequently! I’ve been diabetic for 27 years now (I’m 55) and have been fortunate to have good control.
