Diabetes, type 1 or 2, cannot be cured and never goes away. But it can be controlled, through either insulin (or appropriate medication) , plus a good diet (good food versus junk food, fruits and veggies etc...and exercise.

Nope, sorry. There might be hope of getting islet cell transplants down the road, but they still have a lot of things to work out. They work for a while in some people but then they poop out again. You need to plan to have Type 1 for the rest of your life and live accordingly. A cure has been "right around the corner" the whole time I’ve had it, but here we are.

Not at this point in time. No. Even Type 2 doesn't go away. It just gets controlled.

No, it can only be managed. Talk to the doctor about treatments, there may be some way to avoid shots. And who knows what they'll discover or invent in the future? They may even find a cure!
