i have just been diagnosed as a diabetic of Type 2 diabetes. Can it be cured and if so how? thank u?
i have a family history of diabetes
Two years ago after a routine blood test, husband was diagnosed as pre-diabetic. His level was 7.5.
We changed our lifestyle completely cutting out rubbish and eating lots of fruits and veg, fish and whole foods. We also took long walks every day.
After one year his levels had dropped to 6.2 and last week we went back for his yearly results and they were 5.5.
So it can be reversed. We both look and feel better but you must remember this change of lifestyle is for life, not just a short while.
Good luck.

there is no "cure" for diabetes. But through exercise, a good diet and a healthy lifestyle you can be symptom free and keep your blood sugars within healthy levels.

I am not sure what your age is, but research definitely shows that Diabetes 2 can be reversed with a proper diet and a lot of exercise, given you have no other major illnesses. I have met two individuals who have reversed their diabetes 2. I would definitely consult a nutritionist if you need help figuring out what kinds of foods to eat. An endocrinologist is a doctor who manages Diabetes, It will be good if you get an endocrinologist who can monitor you and help you possibly reverse diabetes. Good Luck!

Lose weight. Gain muscle and eat better foods like good carbs. If it is genetic then you are thin and muscular. If you are fat and flabby, don’t blame it on your family. At the same time obesity has skyrocketed so has type 2 diabetes. Type 1 is heriditary.

I am a type 2 (adult onset) diabetic due to Agent Orange exposure.
Unfortunately diabetes cannot be cured, but it can be controlled by medication and diet. Watch what you eat and if you are overweight, loose the weight and get plenty of exercise.
Keep a close watch on your blood sugar levels.
Avoid foods that contain sugar or can turn to sugar in your system.
God bless and good health!

No it cant be cured but they are on the verge on getting there by implanting cells in the liver but it wont be available in the near future. its along way off from being a cure.
Im sure you will get all the answers from your family if you need to enquire but you are real lucky to have type 2. I have type 1 and that is where your pancreas does not work at all and you body does not produce insulin whiich makes sugar in the blood able for your cells to use. To replace this i have to inject insulin daily to contol my blood sugar.
You have type 2 which means your pancreas is faulty but still working it can be controlled by diet cutting down on sugary foods or by taking tablets. But any case you will have to contol your eating and make sure you have to eat at least 2 hours a day. Type 2 may have to inject also but I wish you all the best in getting it under control.

As will will learn, Diabetes can not be cured, it’s treated like a disease, and it should be considered as a "condition".
You can live a long and healthy life, and probably that best aid to come along is Dr. Bernstein, so give a look:

This doesn’t mean that you can avoid Insulin, but you can help yourself.

At this time they have been testing a "cure" which is the transfer of pancreatic sells to the kidney. It was first tested in Canada with promising results but on a small scale. Recently a hospital in Chicago did another round of tests and had luck. They chose 50 patients for the tests and each received free medical help because of it being experimental. The cost of this process is estimated at $250,000+ at this time and is not approved by the FDA.
You may be able to control your diabetes well with diet and excersise. I would try that as a first attempt.

Sort of… here’s how:
For type I and type II diabetics (and those who could potentially become diabetic)…
I’ve found a wonderful book that will help you control your diabetes and minimize or even eliminate the complications. Some folks who became diabetic due to poor diet and obesity are effectively cured by following the advice in this book. I’m a type II (inherited), but it helps all types, especially those who became diabetic due to poor eating habits. It’s by an author who has really done his homework, Patrick Quillin, Phd. It’s called, "The Diabetes Improvement Program". I have tried his suggestions and found them to be very helpful. I have no complications whatsoever and my blood sugar levels are quite stable. Yes, I still have to take Metformin (Glucophage) daily, but it’s the minimum dosage (500mg) and I only have to take it twice a day. I have been off Metformin for as much as a week, but this was with vigorous exercise. Many, what I call, non-hereditary type IIs (those that don’t have a close relative who had it) have gotten off medication completely, just with diet, exercise, and supplements. So, in some instances, it most certainly can be ‘effectively’ cured. Read more about it here:
http://www.diabetesimprovement.com/
The book explains what’s going on in our system and what to do about it. It’s really easy and inexpensive. It’s basically diet, supplements and exercise. For example, did you know that cinnamon helps blood sugar absorption? It also controls cholesterol and triglycerides. This is according to the USDA:
http://www.ars.usda.gov/is/np/fnrb/fnrb0104.htm#pinch
For men: Are you suffering from erectile dysfunction? I was. Yes, WAS. Now that everything’s under control, I’m able to have nearly normal sex again. I’ve also put together a little webpage highlighting some of the things I’ve learned here:

Here’s another great health site with all kinds of general health information:

Type 2 is an adult onset diabetes, usually hereditary. There is no cure. The best thing to do is control it, being sure to follow a proper diet and take your meds as prescribed. Uncontrolled diabetes leads to a multitude of other helth problems, the worst being death.

Please see the webpages for more details on Diabetes. There is no cure for diabetes but it can be controlled by diet, exercise and drugs. Periodical medical checkup under the supervision of a diabetic specialist is absolutely necessary. The aim of the treatment is to avoid complications such as heart attack, stroke, kidney failure, liver disease, neuropathy, retinoathy, leg amputation etc.

Hi,
Sorry to hear that .
There is no cure for diabetes.
The causes of the disease have many factors to blame, but genetics seem to be the strongest factor. Obesity is also found to be genetically enhanced and the two could be related somehow. Treatment is simple, it is taken orally to lower the blood sugar which can cause hypoglycemia and at some point insulin injections may be needed.

GLYCONUTRIENTS is in my opinion the answer to CANCER, DIABETES ALMOST EVERY DISEASE. A food supplement designed to allow the immune system flawless communication. Discovered since 1996 with the invention of a microscope capable of looking at a cell and the direct effects that specific nutrients have on the cells of the immune system. No more guessing and hypothesizing about what works. There is no greater weapon against disease than our own immune system functioning correctly and healthy. Because glyconutrients are found in specific food supplements the FDA has varied laws that amount to my not being able to state here the specific products that contain glyconutrients. Send me an email and I will gladly send to you free of charge the information about the GREATEST BLESSING AVAILABLE TODAY- SCIENCE HAS DISCOVERED THE TECHNOLOGY OF GLYCONUTRIENTS. There is hope and answers and help against diseases. Email a request for info about glyconutrients to ithiel91@yahoo.com
God Bless

The only "cure" or chance of getting rid of the type 2 diabetes is to make your pancreas work. You can do it if your willing to eat & exerize & lose the weight every day not just when you want to or when you "can" but every day.
Not all type 2’s can get rid of it but even the ones that can’t are soooo much better off when they lose the weight, eat right & exerize
Good Luck

Diabetes is not a disease to be cured. It is disorder (defect) and can be controlled and people can live as long as other normal people are if they strictly follow the life style, diet, avoiding tension, good sleep, mental relaxation etc. If you keep it under control you need not afraid or worry.

YES, THERE IS A CURE!
However, I’m not sure if it only works on type 1 diabetes.
It is a transplant of islet cells from a donor that matches you. Don’t let others fool you. The cure exists, but it involves surgery. For some reason they still consider it in research. It probably has something to do with the insurance companies not paying for it.

Try a vegan diet. A recent study found that the vegan diet will reverse type-2 diabetes. See http://www.vegetarianorganiclife.com I believe a vegan diet will help the type-1 diabetic too.

You cant’ cure diabetes. You simply have to adjust your lifestyle so that it doesn’t get worse. You have to have a healthier diet and exercise. If it is genetic its even more important to change.
