why do you have to design different strategies for treatment, cure and prevention of Type I and Type 2 diabete?
Explain why scientists and physicians must design different strategies for the treatment, cure and prevention of Type I and Type 2 diabetes.
For treatment……….yes
For cure………………no
There is no cure for either type of diabetes, contrary to what others may be implying.
Type 1 diabetes strategy for treatment has to include the proper balance of dieting (meal planning) and exercise to coincide with the amount of insulin being injected.
Type 2 strategy for treatment may or may not include the need for insulin injections, it has more to do with becoming less insulin resistant by eating properly and exercising along with oral medications or long lasting insulin injections (24 hours).
Both types of diabetes need to be followed closely by way of home testing and repeated follow ups with more accurate lab work as in A1c’s.

Type 1 and type 2 diabetes are two totally different diseases that cause abnormal blood glucose levels. In fact there are 30-50 different sub categories of type 2 diabetes. Therefore why would you think the same strategies would work?
There is currently no cure for any type of diabetes.
