why does my friend have high blood sugar?

he does not have diabetes but has very high blood sugar.
what can help, how does he change this?

Your friend could be a diabetic or is a border-line diabetic. He must go to the doctor and be tested for diabetes. His pancreas, liver and kidney function should also be tested too.

The best thing to do is lay off the sugars; the doctor will let him know all about diabetes and how much at risk he is.

If he has high blood sugar he most certainly does have diabetes and needs to be thoroughly tested for it.

He could have inherited it. High blood sugar is the same as diabetes. He needs to see a Dr.

Sometimes it can happen because of medications he takes, steroids are known to raise the blood sugar.
He needs to be checked b hiis doctor and have spesific tests to make sure he is not diabetic though

I can advise diet and exercise, but high blood sugar is dangerous, please tell him to see a doctor.

If he does not have diabetes now, (Was it his doctor who said so?) then, sooner or later, he will be given this diagnosis. So, he has to take all the precautionary measures to prevent this. Diabetes could be genetic, so the more he has to be well-informed about this disease if diabetes runs in their family. Diet and exercise are very helpful in deterring diabetes. Also, he has to monitor his blood sugar level regularly. The bottom line is he has to stay on top of it and he would be fine. Good luck to him!

very high? as in greater than 120 mg/dl? well, maybe ur friend needs to see a doctor and have series of lab work ups to undergo. when did he get his blood sugar? is it randomnly or he did fasting? our blood sugars are usually high right after eating and itwill lower down to normal after 2 hours of eating. to be sure, ask ur friend to see an endocrinologist or diabetologist

If his blood sugar is 150 or over, then he is a diabetic according to my doctor. Normal blood sugar at fasting should be 60 -120.

Tell him not to eat white bread or potatoes, these are starchy foods and acts just like sugar when it hits the stomach. He should also drink water, water, water! The water will help flush it out through his kidneys. Tell him he needs to walk, this will burn calories, which will help his blood sugar to come down.

You didn’t say how high his blood sugar was, but if it very high say from 300-500. He needs help now! Call his doctor, or get him to the nearest E.R.!

Why does he believe he doesn’t have diabetes? He needs to see a doctor, preferably an endocrinologist. Cushing’s syndrome which is vary rare, can also cause diabetic symptoms.
