Drink more water to help flush out the excess sugar faster. just don’t go overboard with it or you can throw off your electrolytes and make yourself ill.

First off it depends if you are talking about Type 1 or Type 2…

Type 1: You drink water and take insulin… exercise can help if your blood sugar is not excessively high

Type 2: water, exercise, oral medications and/or insulin

As a diabetic you should be more familiar and educated about the condition and nutrition to better manage your heath.

First of all, there is no food or drink that will actually lower your blood sugars. However there are foods that have less of an impact on your blood sugars than others – and that would be anything high in protein and LOW in carbs/ sugar – preferable no carbs/sugar

If you went to bed with 245 and woke up 150 then the insulin is doing its job and your sugars are going down. Limit your carbs as much as possible until your glucose levels come back down to a more normal range and follow a moderate diet to keep them there.

Exercise is also helpful in lowering and managing blood sugars. You can try going for a 30 minute walk or hope on a bike. Regular exercise is always best.

You lower your intake of carbohydrates. Carbohydrates are simply long chains of sugar molecules hooked end-to-end. When a person eats carbohydrates their normal digestive process breaks up these chains into the individual sugar molecules, and they pass right through the intestinal wall into the bloodstream, and load up the bloodstream with sugar.
