can you get sores on your body from high blood sugar?

I have one on my face, hand and toe.I went to the doctor and he told me that it was because of my sugar being so high.He took a culture on them to see what it is.I’m going to wait for his phone call. Can anyone help me.

Yes, I’ve heard of people with diabetes heal very slow, lose eyesight, lose leg, etc. but it is controllable if you cooperate with what your doctor tells you.

Sores can be caused by infection among diabetics. They are always curable by strict control of blood glucose.

Keep a close eye one all of the sores .When you are diabetic you don’t heal well because of circulation problems.Always check your body for sores and have someone look at your feet for them also.If the areas get black and begin to smell bad go to the doctor right away.

Wait for the doc’s call back. It takes at least 48 hours for the culture to grow and then find out which antibiotic to give you for the specific bacteria.

LISTEN TO THE DOC! Meanwhile, keep your lesions clean and dry.
