I’ve had low blood sugar before but this feeling is different.
I’m on Metformin, not for diabetes though. I am trying to concieve and have PCOS.
I was feeling weird the other day and it went away about 45 minutes after I took my metformin. I’ve done that exact same things a couple more times. So it’s making me think I’m getting this feeling from high blood sugar.
Can’t concentrate and will feel moody. You may have muscle cramps and temporary blurred vision. You feel tired and thirsty and with a need to urinate often. You may also have a yeast infection. These are the common symptoms of high blood sugar.Metformin is an oral antidiabetic – non insulin dependent. In your case, having PCOS -Polycystic ovary disease or many cysts in the ovaries, the medication Metformin makes ovulation normal and that’s why you are taking the medication. I would like to add that in case you are overweight, losing weight may help you reduce insulin levels, stimulate ovulation and improve fertiity. Hope this help. Good luck! Neida

My doctor recommended this as a way to lower blood sugar levels, and it works: take a teaspoon of CINNAMON a day! Cinnamon is a natural way to lower blood sugar, and it works!
Warning: do NOT mix your cinnamon with SUGAR! Also drink plenty of cold water, cut out soda and juices COMPLETELY, and start drinking unsweetened iced tea!
I’m 39, I have Type II diabetes, I take Glyburide, and my blood sugar is now typically in the 110′s to 120′s. It would be lower, but I’ve gained 45 pounds since an accident almost 2 years ago.
My aunt is hyperglycemic which means her blood gets high so please help me help her find what foods she can eat. I had asked this question before and I got no good answers, now to be more specific I wasn’t asking what foods LOWER the blood sugar I was asking what foods she could eat that wouldnlt make her blood sugar HIGHER.
Protein foods do not lower blood sugar, that’s utterly ridiculous. When consumed with carbs, they merely slow the absorption of foods that normally produce blood sugar (carbohydrates).
That being said, there are a couple of foods that might aid the body in dealing with blood sugar. Those are cinnamon and ampalaya (bitter melon). But rest assured, consuming more food, of any type, is far less effective (often worsening the situation) than a little exercise and simply eating the right foods.
Now then, since you’re asking what foods help keep blood sugar from going higher, that is going to be the ones Mother Nature provides…. Natural foods. They are full of essential nutrients, and naturally low in calories. The nutrients help your body deal with the calories more effectively than man made/processed foods. You still can’t beat good old fashioned exercise for keeping blood sugar low, however.
If someone has diabetes is it because their blood sugar is too high or too low? I’m having some symptoms, to get tested, am I supposed to fast for 12 hours and then go and see my doctor?
It is because there blood sugars are too high. Your symptoms of being a diabetic would be increased thirst, increased urination, weight loss and a fruity smelling breath. If your going to get tested to see if you are or not you do not have to do anything especially fasting because it isn’t going to matter either way. The doctor will do a simple blood test and probably a urine culture to see if you are diabetic or not.
