    I also made the …
I also made the mistake of connecting the sugar content of a certain food with a faster rate of carbs entering the bloodstream. Using this connection is not what it seems and can be very misleading. Its all about the Glycemic Index ( GI). The glycemic index is the actual rate of of how carbs in food affect our blood glucose over time. Skim milk actually has a low GI, which means a low rate of carbs entering our bloodstream over time. There are GI databases that give readings on all foods.

    Have you looked at …
Have you looked at how much sugar is in skim milk and other milk too?
Small glass of skim milk shots my blood sugar up.
I am now using Almond Milk for my breakfast and coffee and find it does not affect my blood sugar.

    Well, I firmly …
Well, I firmly believe that every person’s metabolism varies and therefore all are not exactly the same. It probably requires a modified diet going in moderation and watching the results closely. Some may require more meats and such while others are less. Some even will require more sugars than others and still have normal glucose levels. I don’t think there is any one absolute way to go. Moderation and careful monitoring are the key to managing diabetes.

    I would not call …
I would not call the presenter moron, but I strongly agree that diabetics should check up on Dr. Neal Barnard’s work regarding reversing diabetes. I think I’m not going too far if I say that the regularly recommended diet for diabetes is just the continuation of the cause of (type 2) diabetes; “thinking inside the box” in a typical western way.

    The worse things …
The worse things diabetics can eat are carbohydrates, in particular any sugars, either “natural” or processed. The question is- why impose a diabetic to food which they find makes their blood sugar levels unstable. Just a simple test of logic- no science required.

    Eggs are not the …
Eggs are not the evil thing they’ve been made out to be. Recent studies show that cholesterol from eggs (eaten in moderation, of course) does not contribute to heart disease, or cause it.

Meat is also not the culprit either. Humans were designed to eat meat. Look at the Inuit in arctic regions of Canada. Their traditional diet consists of lots of meat.

Put them on a Western, carbohydrate-oriented diet and guess what happens? They get diabetes!

You don’t get anywhere being obscene.
I have NEVER seen a healthy VEGAN yet.
Vegan is WORST diet for diabetics as it relies too much in carbohydrates.

    Glycemic Index is …
Glycemic Index is based on faulty science. The basic chemistry they used in determining GI is not correct. Please see-
GLYCEMIC INDEX- why it does not worK ?

Just copy and paste into SEARCH box.

Glycemic Load is based on DIRECT measurement of the glycemic response to a known weight of test food. No calculation or estimation of GI from apparent weight of contained CARBOHYDRATE is needed. Although the GI Researchers can’t or don’t want to understand this, it is a fact

    Are you crazy… …
Are you crazy… What planet do you live on. Meat is dead. Animal protein clogs your arteries, wastes your calcium, and makes you fat. Cholesterol will kill you faster than wheat bread. There are millions of studies that prove animal fat causes diseases that kill. Complex carbs will burn fat, but don’t keep putting the fat in. Go vegan and live!

    Why would you say …
Why would you say to eat lean meats or no egg yolks? There has NEVER been a study to show that animal fat is detrimental to health. It is a high carb diet paired with high overall fat that does so.
