i know my blood sugar is high and not low because when i get like this i’ve been checking it. My sugar level is high but i feel like i need to eat something so that the feelings i have go away. Those feelings are tiredness, dizziness, jittery, shaking, headache, and hard to focus. The feelings dont leave until i have had something to correct the feeling. What could this be?

how do you know your sugar is high and not low? how often do you check it? what are the exact values? what does your endocrinologist have to say about this issue? this is such a strange scenario and sounds like it could be somatic.

First off, you must KNOW that your blood sugar is high by using the handheld Glucometer (Finger Stick test). DO NOT TRUST YOUR "FEELINGS"! they can be wrong — DEAD wrong!

My wife has similar "feelings" — but every time she thinks her blood sugar is too high (based on her "feelings") the test meter shows it to be normal.

If your meter says that your reading is high, then you need to NOT EAT. Eating will only make your reading go higher — and that is VERY bad.

The symptoms you describe ARE those of high blood sugar — but usually VERY HIGH blood sugar, like 400 or more.

If your blood sugar at these times is over 250, you need to call your doctor. if you are diabetic your meds need to be adjusted. you also need to control your diet and exercise better to avoid these situations.

if you have not been diagnosed with diabetes, now may be the time. Blood sugars that high need to be investigated and treated before they damage your internal organs, possibly leaving you an invalid in a wheel chair or nursing home.

    CALL YOUR DOCTOR!

the symptoms can get all mixed up sometimes
say your blood sugar eat a brownie and you dont give insulin, there is a brownie in there so u shudnt be hungry right?
wrong, with no insulin the brownie cannot feed your cells so you feel the need to keep eating
high blood sugars are going to make you jittery and give headaches and all those other symptoms
    it happen to me too
just drink plenty of water and correct your number
the feeling are just your body saying to you that you need to help it
and like ‘Gary B" said dont always trust your feelings
    always use your meter
you dont wanna end up in the hospital because you thought you were high but you actually were low
