Signs of diabetes type 2-Act Before its Too Late!

Type2 Diabetes is also known as noninsulin-dependent diabetes. This is a condition where the way your body normally metabolizes glucose is disrupted. There are two possible things that may happen that causes this condition:

  • Body’s resistance to insulin. Insulin is what the body needs in order for cells to allow sugar to enter them and provide needed energy. In Type 2 diabetes, the body may resist the insulin which results in an overload of glucose in the blood stream.
  • Body’s underproduction of insulin. In this case, the pancreas (the organ that is responsible for producing insulin) doesn’t produce enough. As a result, only limited glucose is absorbed by the cells and again, an excess is left in the blood stream.
Some common Symptoms

Since diabetes has no current cure and Type 2 diabetes in particular can become life-threatening, it is imperative that you are able to notice the symptoms early. Once this is done and you are diagnosed, you will be able to receive therapy that can help manage your blood sugar and lead quite normal lives. Here are some of the common symptoms that you should be aware of. These are mostly due to the high amount of glucose in your blood.
Increased thirst. This is because due to the lack of glucose in the cells, fluid is absorbed faster causing you to be thirsty in a short time.
Incresed hunger. The unique thing about this hunger is it usually comes after you eat a meal. This is because your body doesn’t get the energy it needs from the food you eat. Even after a heavy meal, you will still feel extremely hungry. It’s like your eating has no use.
Fatigue. No matter how much you eat, you’ll still get tired very easily. This will mean you won’t be able to do as much work as you used to which can be very frustrating.
Weight loss. Despite the fact that you will be eating more than usual, you will unexpectedly lose weight.  This is because without glucose, the body’s tissues will shrink and cause you to loose weight abnormally.
Factors that increase the risk
Overweight. The tendency if you are obese is that your body’s fatty tissues will make it harder for the cells to take in insulin. They will be more resistant to this hormone which can easily lead to this condition.
Hereditary factors. If one of your parents has this ailment, it is more likely that you’ll get it.
Sedentary lifestyles. Those who don’t exercise regularly will be more prone to this type of diabetes since they will have a higher risk of becoming overweight.
Age factors. The risk of Type 2 diabetes increases as you get older. Still, it is possible for anyone to get the disease especially if it runs in ones’ blood.
If you aren’t able to diagnose the ailment in its early stages, you’ll have the risk of many serious healthy conditions including heart failure and kidney problems. It is therefore extremely important that you consult a physician immediately you witness the mentioned symptoms.
