Diabetes is a serious disease that is found in both children and adults. Type 1 diabetes commonly found in children, adolescents, and even young adults, but it also can be found in adults. The thing is type 1 diabetes can appear suddenly, and cause people to be dependent on insulin via injection or pump for life. Diabetes also comes along with many other serious complications.

For diabetic patients they need to constantly monitor their blood sugar level as to not let it get too high or too low at any given time. Some people with type 1 diabetes are required to take multiple insulin injections daily to lower their blood sugar level. This is not only inconvenient but also has long term side effects.

Insulin injections or infusions may help keep people with type 1 diabetes alive but they certainly cannot cure the disease. They also do can’t necessarily protect the person from the possibility of the disease’s effects, which may include: kidney failure, blindness, , heart attack, and stroke. What injected insulin does is basically reduce the person’s blood sugar level temporarily.

It is quite difficult to manage diabetes fully despite careful attention to maintaining a meal plan, having an exercise routine and injecting the correct amount of insulin. There are other factors that can unfavorably affect the blood sugar levels; these factors consist of stress, hormonal changes, periods of growth, physical activity, medications, illness/infection, and also fatigue.
