What does a diabetic have to do to prevent having high blood sugar?

My mother has type 1 diabetes.

When her sugar is high she gets euphoric. She has had two comas and a series of heart attacks. I want to get my mother healthy because I cannot deal with being in a hospital for hrs on end. Please send some help.

Your mother needs to be under the care of an endocrinologist. Managing the sugars of a type 1 diabetic can be tricky, you shouldn’t be doing it alone. Maybe she needs more insulin? But again, this is not an adjustment you should make without a doctors approval. Is she taking the insulin she’s supposed to be taking? How is her diet? Try to cut back on the processed carbs, more fruits and veggies and whole grains.

the main thing i found out was you have to check her blood all the time. every 4 hours. also the 3 am thing is you can have low blood and heart attackes at that hour cause that is hour that low sugar gnerally comes. you hae to try and level out her eating. she cannot have sweets with itself. if you fix meal and have sweet into it its like balanced and that helps i am not sure if she has insulin my mom has 4 x day. 3 at meals before she eats checking blood sugars and then one at nite with lantus which is type that levels out the sugars and its abit you have to watch and mom has had one coman and she has stroke years ago. shes not too well where we have to watch her but she can stil chedk her blood and we give her shots and stuff. you hae to remeind her but she does it take care its hard job i know.

With the controlled diabetic diets and exercises (mental & physical both), and proper doses of INSULIN, I shall advice you to take HOMOEOPATHIC treatment from your nearest homoeopathic doctor.

Homoeopathic medicines will keep your mother PREVENT from further complications of type 1 diabetes, with reducing high blood sugar.

In type 1 diabetes, Insulin is not manufacturing by the pancrease. So INSULIN as a supplement in proper doses should be taken as prescribed. But a homoeopathic remedy can help to improve the diseased beta-cells (can not be think off by any other therapy) and also help your mother in reducing the risks of complications of type 1 diabetes.

First of all, you need to be sure she is taking her meds as directed. Make sure she is not eating something during the day that she shouldn’t have. No white bread, rolls, biscuits, no white potatoes. You have to read the carb content of what she eats, learn about good and bad carbs. Does she have a nutritionist or dietitian??? Every diabetic should have one. They can be a life line. Fruit is another thing that can be bad. And no juices….sugar, even if it says no sugar added. Talk to her doctor for advice. Don’t keep any sweets in the house where she may get them. I don’t suppose she can do any type of exercise, but if she could, it would help
