What foods bring down high blood sugar?

I know cactus can bring it down quick. As can exercising and wasting energy.

But if someone can’t exercise due to a heart condition. Then how can they bring down their high blood sugar quickly?
What foods are good for that?

Or should the person just not eat for a while?
interesting. I eat cactus to bring mine down and it always works like a charm. As it does for the people I recommend it to. I guess it depends on the person. My mother inlaw now has diabetes and can’t exercise due to a heart condition so I guess meds is the only option there.

The trick with beginning an exercise routine is to start off slow. Do only 5 minutes of continuous movement, such as walking, in the beginning and work yourself up another 5 minutes a week or so later. Eventually, you will be doing 15 to 20 minutes of exercise and your body will begin to respond.

Now as far as foods go, eating green leafy vegetables, drinking certain teas (such as green, black, oolong or white), limiting unhealthy proteins, and using stevia instead of sugar can all help.

There are also many supplements that will help control blood sugar levels such as b-complex, cinnamon, fenugreek, garlic and many others.

I will leave you with some web pages to help you learn more about how to lower your blood sugar levels.

Good luck to you.

No food will bring down blood sugar quickly. It’s easy enough to test with your glucometer to see if cactus or any other homeopathic treatments are working. None work quickly.
Not eating will not resolve the issue if you have diabetes. The blood sugar will keep rising any way with the foods that are in the digestive tract.
If a person can not adequately control their blood glucose level with diet and exercise then they need to see an endocrinologist to get the appropriate medication.

No food will bring down high glucose levels. But not eating will raise them really a lot. For some people exercising will raise the glucose levels as well.

The only thing that will bring down high glucose levels fast is insulin injections. Cactus or nopalitas will NOT bring it down quick and neither will mesquite beans.

there are no foods that actually lower blood sugar although you can avoid foods that would raise your blood sugar.
For some ppl it doesn’t take much activity or exercise to lower blood sugar so if your mother has a heart condition she do some easly walking or moderate cycling, or lifting small 3 or 5lb hand weights. Even yoga helps!

Avoid processed and refined foods like noodles…pastas and other food items made from refined flour. These foods have no fiber at all and help in elevating the blood sugar levels.
